Yes this is true. Luxshare Precision (Luxshare-ICT) is a major electronics manufacturer in China. They manufacture components, cables, connectors, and assemblies for consumer electronics, and they are involved in Apple's supply chain (e.g. AirPods, some iPhone assembly) Their manufacturing base is wide — over 110 production facilities across China, Vietnam, Mexico, India, etc.

China has companies that can absolutely compete with — or even surpass — the U.S. in manufacturing quality. But they also produce some of the cheapest, low-end components you can imagine.
