I am not saying this brand is definitively malicious, but when there's little existing documentation of the most basic system on the device itself, difficulty in reaching said system, and very little consumer control, it makes you scratch your head.
I hope these laptops are the real deal in terms of offering these specs at low prices. I don't expect the quality to rival that of top brands best lines, but I do absolutely expect a safe and reliable system at any price point. There is no acceptable price threshold for forfeiting security. I'd love to see a deeper dive on these systems, or some additional documentation (or control, via updates to said BIOS) on the lowest level operations of these laptops.

Also, every single "Copilot-ready" PC replaced their right Alt key with this god awful "Copilot key".
Microsoft said "Screw this functional button on your keyboard, we will use it for branding". Now there's two branding buttons on the bottom. Tacky and ugly as hell, and definitely now how Keyboards will look in 5 years. This Copilot tackiness is temporary because nobody wants it.
"We don't care if blind people use the right ctrl key, we will use it for branding"
Microsoft is garbage and you should not buy any of their new products. Windows 11 is a vast invasion of privacy, and they're making a ton of data off the massive amount of telemetry they send up from your machine by default. They are destroying gamepass as well, and turning everyone's Xbox hardware into an obligation.
And with windows 11, you can't even make a local account out of the box. They force you into logging into a microsoft account now, and only power users can get out of it (For now).
It's a marketing and surveillance machine. The most insidious possible experience with questionable legality in all their haphazard and greedy data stewardship.
And then what makes it worse, is when you take a no-name "NIMO" brand who definitely has ownership from the Chinese government, then you can see how many other actors are going to get access to your computing data.
Hard pass. See you in 5 years when all the copilot trash is gone.

The BIOS is a very basic AMI bios. Nothing looks out of the ordinary, nothing for overclocking, just your basic non-enthusiast BIOS like we had in the 90s, but with all the proper features for the current motherboards, memory, and processors. My 11th Gen Intel motherboard by ASUS has a ton more features, but it cost over $200 by itself, meant for overclockers..
I do worry about BIOS updates with NIMO (I have a different model than on this post) and MINI PCs. I may not keep it for that reason mainly, but also because FOMO with not having a dedicated GPU.
Odd thing though, the factory Windows install acted like it was a tablet or a touchscreen if I tried to shut down from the login screen. It reminded me of Windows 8 tablet I had with the slide to shut down feature. I haven't seen that on other laptops.
