Don't see any UL certification, and read the 1 star reviews; it caused an electrical fire for 1 person. I wouldn't go cheap and with AmazonBasics for something like this.

So my room outlet is only 2 prong but it's only optional to plug in my tv , laptop, etc. Is it better to get a 2 prong surge protector with 3 prong sockets on it? Or a 2 prong to 3 prong plug in adapter then plug a 3 prong surge protector onto that? I know people will say just replace the wall socket entirely but based on my options which is better?

Only 600 joules means this is essentially just a power strip and not much of a surge protector. However $2.50 for a 6 outlet power strip is still a good price. But don't count on it saving your expensive electronics from a power surge, like your 77" OLED TV or RTX 5090 PC.
That 77" OLED TV should have its own protection for the money we paid for it.

a 2' power strip is the one that gets lost because everyone tosses them aside while looking for the convenient ones with nice long cords
I think the big issue is that if you're impulse buying like most of us probably are, then a power strip with a 2' cable makes a lot less sense as something to stockpile. 2' is much less versatile than something like 6'.

I'd argue these are still helpful. If you're putting this directly behind an entertainment center in front of an outlet, then a thick 6' cable is going to add a lot of clutter. A 2' cable would be much better. These are also helpful to add to a spot where you already have an extension cable or power strip. This would let you add 5 more outlets to that area.

No usb. It's just very blurry writing that says Protected

Just received this and the clamping voltage spec shown on the bottom of the surge protector is really bad at 1000V.

Have a cheap GE surge protector that I got for like $5 awhile ago and although it only has a 300J rating, it's clamping voltage is 330V.
