I can get the 85" QM7K at Wal-Mart for about $1400 after cash back with 5 yr warranty and install.

QM8K worth the extra $600+?

Depends on how much you value brightness and number of dimming zones for more contrast. QM7K is plenty bright and have enough dimming zones for a good HDR experience and contrast ratio but QM8K has much more peak brightness and a lot more dimming zones pushing the contrast closer to an OLED experience. If you watch movies in HDR a lot and value the extra elevated experience and plan to use the TV for many years, it might be worth spending extra. If you're unsure, just go with QM7k, pretty likely you'll be happy with it.

I bought the 75" a couple of months ago during the Best Buy sale for $1,500. Had the 85" been on sale for $2,000, I would have purchased that instead. I've been an LG OLED guy for the past 10 years, and let me say that I've now move all my gaming and UHD 4K movies over to the QM8K. The specular highlights on the QM8K blew me away. It's something that the LG OLED that I have can't come close. The new tantum OLED is $5,700 - $6,000 for the 83". At $2,000 for the 85" QM8K, I may pick that up as well.

OP. You should put the price in the title.

I would suggest reading reviews on both at rtings.com to see which one would meet your needs best.
they are both great tv's but the qm8k is significantly better in every way. If you have a room with a good amount of sunlight then def go with the qm8k, it has over double the brightness of the qm7k.

Depending on one's budget, I'd compare this to the QM9K that RTINGS will have a review published within a week.

The 98" is also offered from the same seller for $3k, which is a price found lots of places.

You could buy from somewhere that has extended holiday return (returns until Jan 31st) and then if you find a better deal, return it and buy the other one. It would be quite annoying to deal with returning a 85" TV but it would also be more annoying to wait and then there's no better deals or even worse, this deal goes away and doesn't come back.

Great question! The biggest selling point for me was the WHVA in the QM8K vs the HVA in the QM7K. Our theater room has some seats that are at a side angle to the TV. The QM8K is for sure superior in viewing angle (color shift, etc) than the QM7K. Otherwise, the QM8K is much better in a bright room. If those things don't matter, you're fine to go QM7K. 🤓

Hey there! Hopefully, it's not location dependent. But, shows free shipping for me.

I think it must be. I'm not sure how to post a screenshot but I've got 209.66 shipping at checkout and economy shipping. I'm in Missouri. Maybe it's free in areas where they have a B&M location.
