Does "on board" for the RAM mean soldered? If so, are there additional slots to increase the RAM?

LPDDR always means soldered

I feel like you guys are underselling this, unless I'm the crazy one...

This laptop is on the front page https://slickdeals.net/f/18669661-lenovo-legion-5-laptop-ryzen-7-260-15-1-wqxga-oled-165hz-rtx-5060-16gb-512gb-949-free-shipping , but for $100 more, you're getting better CPU, twice the RAM, twice the storage, and better GPU. I think most people would pay $100 for any ONE of those and you're getting all of them. As for the downsides, 1" smaller, and lower refresh rate (120 vs 165, but former has 3k resolution and imo 120 hz is definitely good enough) then obviously it's "Excellent refurb" but I feel like Best Buy generally has a good reputation for its open-boxes unless that has changed as of recently.

No it doesnt. It means low profile, meaning usually that all the chips are soldered to one side of the RAM chips so that it's thinner. Doesn't have anything to do with whether or not it's soldered to the board. Source: I work for a RAM manufacturer
What? LPDDR in this case stands for low power DDR. I don't think i've ever seen a consumer case where its not soldered on the board unless you have an example?

Dr W does it again! Amazing! Got an Excellent Cond for $1054.99, and with the Best Buy card, took the $50 statement credit option instead of banking the points. Never seen that option before. Son will put it through its paces when it arrives and make sure it's a keeper.

Been in the market to replace an older laptop. Debated this because of the 70 (maybe 75) watt GPU in "Unleashed" mode. But the Ultra 9 16 cores, 5070, OLED, and 32GB won me over. Skimmed the reviews and look good. BB still has last year's model with the Ultra 7 and 5060 for $1,830 new, $1,395 open box.

Another GREAT find Dr W...Thank you!!! 💯

Maybe add some details instead of just saying it's not a deal lmao. Or better yet, link another 5070 oled laptop with a similar CPU at the $1k price point.

Apparently, it's hard-capped to 140W total (what the USB-C only charging can support) and to push more than 70W to the GPU, you need to flash the BIOS and the CPU performance takes a hit. So by default, the GPU is similar to a 4060. I think I'll pass

Can you use pure USB-C to power this?

I want to dock it using just 1 cable (USB-C).

while you are technically correct, if you check over any laptop descriptions, any that state "LPDDR" memory are always (unless you can find otherwise) instances of memory that is soldered to the board and not upgradable -- again, you're correct, through in practice with determining whether memory is user replacable, mention of LPDDR memory (at least from extensive experience) means that it's not user replacable
