This is a near-perfect configuration. The x86, Jasper Lake CPU provides reasonable horsepower for Chrome OS. The associated 8GB of RAM ensures its ability to support continued updates to Chrome OS as well as more advanced applications (like the Linux development environment). The 1080p screen facilitates productivity as well as media consumption.
About the only feature missing is touch screen functionality, though that would be hard to find at this price point in even a refurbished model (at least without compromising on one of the earlier strong points).

I looked at this with a view to replacing my 3 year old Thinkpad running an Athlon 3150C, but this CPU sucks.
I just told in the last post that in order to get a Chromebook not just focus how long the software updates will be going...instead in order to get updates for the next 5 to 7 years you need to have at least a gigabytes of RAM and 256 GB of storage. and you're definitely right the CPU and GPU does matter especially if you want a Chromebook that runs smooth. I have a Acer Chromebook 713 it's been with me for 4 years until this day he has version 141 and it's running like a beast thanks to it Intel core i5 and it has 512 GB of storage. I'm thinking about getting the Acer Chromebook plus 714 for Christmas lol
but in order to have a Chromebook that will maintain for the next five to seven years solid and durable I will always encourage people to get a Chromebook that at least has an Intel core i3 processor and at least 8 gigabytes of RAM and 512 GB of storage and always make sure that your CPU and GPU do your research and get at least a decent one.
I have seen on eBay Chromebooks with those kind of specs that I just provided for less than $250 and imagine you invest $250 on a Chromebook Plus and I will guarantee you it will last you for the next five to seven years
I got a Lenovo Chromebook with similar specs last year thinking it's enough for light browsing. It's so slow and laggy and the screen is so dim I can barely read anything on it. Had to return it.

I bought two, one is super laggy and the other super fast. I think some of them received bad ram.
4 year old 2 core (2 thread) cpu is not a pleasant experience. Don't kid yourself or anyone else. ChromeOs is way beefier today than it was 4 years ago.
Do not buy.
