Just a heads up. When entering personal info on order, do not capitalize your first or last name. I read about this from another thread and it seems to work at keeping their security system from raising false security flags. Also used chrome incognito and VPN. Order went thru without a hitch.

I want to remind everyone that there is no need to port in a number for this deal. Slickdeals staff replaced my original post with their own that states a port is required. SD staff is wrong on this.

I bought two but not at the same time bought one and it went back and did the whole process again with the same name same credit card but a different email I'm not sure if I could do this all in one shot.. I use T-Mobile but I'll see if it'll work at the end of the month but likely I'll just be canceling the plan at the end of the month and then use them on Wi-Fi or see if they ever get unlocked in a year or less

I ordered for 2 accounts. I will try to order from these 2 accounts when the phones arrived
Last year I bought an iphone 12 (free + $65 service), then I added another iphone 12 to the same account (free + $30 service). I don't remember how long I had to wait until my new account was active in order to add a second phone (at half the service price) to my new Metro account.

It is prepaid, so if you don't pay for the second month then the Metro service ends. No need to cancel. Just make sure the autopay is off (default is off). The phone should unlock in 12 months total from about the activation time.

Thanks. This is a killer deal I'm still using the Motorola edge + 2022 from a deal a couple years ago After the first month I got to unlocked for like $3 on eBay I'm using it right now on T-Mobile the same with my wife's phone.. never had a flip smartphone so I'll see I'll use it on Wi-Fi after the first month

So....can we also let the $65 plan pass the first month and expire, and then order a new $25 BOYD line and add this Razr back in as our own device? Is that possible?
Yes. During the 1st month of $65 service, make sure you login on the app and change devices or port the number out before the service expires. This will disassociate the RAZR from an active metro account and it'll be free to be used on any other line with Metro. Otherwise the phone's IMEI will stay tied to the original line for an additional 30 days while the account sits 'suspended' in the metro system. The reason is Metro gives you a 30 day grace period after your service is cutoff where the account is 'suspended' where you are able to pay to reactive the line, during that period the IMEI that was last used with the line remains tied to that account.

Also as an added note: MetroPCS is hit and miss with allowing phones that are recognized as still 'locked' to Metro to sign up directly for their $25 Bring Your OWN Phone plan. You might have to first sign up and activate it with an unlocked phone that is not connected to Metro, and after activation do the same login to that metro account in the app and change device to the RAZR.

Looking for a solid one-piece case for the Motorola Razr 2024 that doesn't fold — something that makes it feel like a regular slab phone. Does that exist?

Thanks! In previous posts some also mentioned that as this Razr comes with eSim, hence erasing that eSim early would prevent the phone from getting unlocked in one year. Wouldn't doing the phone swap steps mentioned in your post erase the eSim in this Razr?

Quote :
It is an eSim. Do not erase it before auto unlock, otherwise it will never unlock. Auto unlock works fine when connected to WiFi after one year wait.
