Just a heads up. When entering personal info on order, do not capitalize your first or last name. I read about this from another thread and it seems to work at keeping their security system from raising false security flags. Also used chrome incognito and VPN. Order went thru without a hitch.

I want to remind everyone that there is no need to port in a number for this deal. Slickdeals staff replaced my original post with their own that states a port is required. SD staff is wrong on this.

After 4 lines (different, cheaper phones), Metro now throws me the "call us" page at the very end of the checkout (even after taking my credit card information and putting a charge on it)

I'll keep trying until my line expires and I can't login to the account and place an order but I'm curious: if an order did go through, it would obviously arrive after the account was suspended - would it affect the activation of the line, leaving me with a phone that would never unlock?

Ideally you want to want it shipped so you can activate it remotely. I think sometimes you can get a 3 day extension on the account or so, maybe that's good enough to activate.

Just ordered one today. Thinking I should cancel my order since I was planning to put in a T-Mobile SIM
For $65 keep it, you can trade it in at T-Mobile I believe for $400, or if Samsung has another S24/25 renewed promo with enhanced trade-ins. Or wait a year and let it unlock you likely can still get $200-250 then next year once freshly unlocked and still in new condition.

I usually like to activate it and make one phone call then it can go in the drawer with battery ~60% or so.

im curious as to where , how, u got this information.
any links to review/read.

It is an eSim. Do not erase it before auto unlock, otherwise it will never unlock. Auto unlock works fine when connected to WiFi after one year wait.

Have you tried using the cellular data instead of wifi when you sign in? For the 100gb, you have have 7 days before you lose it. Refer to their FAQ:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/b...le-one/faq
Thanks again. Yes, I'm on cellular data. The faq actually say to access it using the Google One app but the link via the text redirected me to th Metro app, hence the confusion. I did signed into Google One app last night and it said I wasn't eligible, but now I am eligible for what seems to be trial offers of 1 month. Not sure if this is just Google offer or the offer because of Metro. I logged into my normal Google account, it doesn't have any trial offers.

This is from DealMayhem who I quoted so I'm not sure how it was attributed to me (I think the quote marks were accidentally deleted on that post) but it makes sense. If you remember, the original physical SIM needed to be in the phone before you could unlock a Metro before they switched to e-SIM. I'm not willing to erase the e-SIM to find out but I'm sure someone will come along and test out the theory eventually.

This is not true. I ported the Metro number out of an iPhone and removed the physical sim and it still unlocked.

historically, the original sim is best to have but not necessarily required for unlock.
i dont believe the esim is required for UL either .

Thanks, Ordered 1. Anyone think Metro will do some BYOP deal during black friday like visible or some of the other prepaid carrier?

So I tried to order anotherone with different emails and CC and no go. Maybe this will help someone the way I got it to finally go through is by using a different laptop and going through the first phone's hotspot and the order went through. Even using the same address and same CC I had tried to use before.

This has worked for me as well in the past. Use your computer routed through your phone's hotspot. I think they block the wi-fi address they see from your home router after so many attempts.
