This Metro Razr 2024 deal is mainly about a cheap foldable with a one year Metro lock and eSIM activation. The strongest upside is the price, with multiple orders going through around $65 or even $35 for a second line, and the phone can be used on Wi Fi or as a secondary device while waiting. Community testing also points to a possible unlock path on some Android 14 units, especially older November 2024 builds. The main catches are frequent stock and checkout failures, plus many reports that newer Android 15 or March 2025 units stay locked or hit server errors. A good fit if you are comfortable with the wait and the activation hassle.

The last few phones I got are dated march -july 2025 with A15 . how are you guys getting these with the a14? Was it earlier ? Or does it matter where you live?
My first phone box was Jan 2025 made in china with A14 with Nov2024 security update but it autoupdated to Jan2025 security update I think, but was able to unlock.

2nd Phone box was May 2025 Made in India, with A15 with March 2025 security update, not unlockable. Both shipping boxes came from Texas.

I have not tried downgrading or restoring to A14 Rom, but I think someone in this thread is in the process of doing and will report back, but I thin someone said it still won't work.

If you have the Gnirehtet issues, just click "uninstall gnirehtet" also exit the gnirehtet window and click "Internet sharing" again and look for the VPN prompt on phone screen.
i must be stupid because this is what i get after trying uninstall and clicking internet sharing, no vpn popup has ever showed up. =

It has to be before the March 2025 security update, isn't your A14 with Nov 2024 security update?

Yes that's unlockable.

Read instructions and look at the attached photos.

Thanks for photos, your first 2 photos doesn't look like the server wasn't working but the 3rd one says success, yet you don't have the VPN icon.

The tool is so janky, Try Uninstall gnirehtet, then Internet sharing again to prompt Gnirehtet connection request on phone, Reset metro app, open metro app, error server comp tap continue. Turn on WiFi (and connect to your home's wifi if your wifi networked wasn't saved or connected before), then click Try Permanent unlock with Wifi On.
Thanks boss. I'll keep repeating these steps. I feel like I'm almost there bc I get all the way to the last step but get that comm error like others. Also, with the wifi turned on it seems Motorola eventually downloaded an update and wants me to reset to apply even though I initially turned all auto updates off. Suffice to say I won't be resetting until I can unlock it.
