In one of the pictures they have for the product, its coffee BEANS rather than grounds in the filter for brewing. New tech. Gotta love it. Pass - mostly because its all plastic.

I believe it's because it's a grinder in the basket as well.

id love to get my hands on a basic drip coffee maker with as little plastic as possible. the only ones ive seen have been super expensive ones though.

Yeah. Interesting idea but I'm not sure it's practical. I can see it breaking or leaking easily. Usually built in grinders are above the coffeemaker, I think, not an integral part of it.

I'm always wary of reviews but on the Walmart site the majority of them is that this doesn't get hot enough consistently to brew coffee, which can't be changed, and grind is too fine and goes through the filter. You can bypass the grind by using your own grinder or grounds, but that defeats the point of the combination machine.

I've been using a $10 metal pour-over for years (with a paper filter). I prefer this to every single serve machine I've had.

This thing uses a blade grinder and likely takes a "dumb" approach to grinding, using an arbitrary fixed duration.
The basket is far too large for the blades (compared to a Krups or Cuisineart blade grinder, which I use for spices) and I wouldn't be surprised if half the beans were ground to dust and the other half in large chunks.

I have this. Not meant for more than one cup at a time and coffee holder gets really hot after pouring.. so you can't just make a second cup, you have to wait until it cools down. Also only low cups will fit, if you have a tumbler, it will not fit. This also uses coffee beans and have a grinder inside, no leaks. I like it over all, just not practical for all
