Excellent cameras with good selection of first-party L-mount lenses from Sigma, as well as others.

Very true! I invested in the S5IIX and the Sigma 24–70mm f/2.8 a couple of months ago. Couldn't be happier, though I did struggle a bit at first to figure out the Lumix settings and menu.

Thank you for posting this. I am surprised that this post is not getting more attention. Unbelievable price really. 6 months back I almost bought the Canon R7 but didnt because of its mediocre low light performance. But this one seems just perfect. Any recommendation on lens? Will the 50mm/f 1.8 be a good choice for overall use, indoors as well as outdoors?

The Panasonic 50mm f/1.8 is a solid all-around lens, especially for portraits and general indoor/outdoor use. But it would be pure injustice to this beast not to pair it with a Sigma 24–70mm f/2.8 or Panasonic 24–70mm f/2.8 down the line IMHO.

May be sign up for a short photography class at a community college or adult learning center — they'll usually give you an .edu email

As a professional filmmaker i use a pair of s5ii's with a sigma 24-70 and Panny 50mm 1.8. Covers 85% of what I need. VERY capable and VERY highly recommended camera.
