its cheap, but what a strange configuration. I dont understand what about this laptop puts it in the Pro category. It has a small battery, and a terrible display panel.

There is a 14" similar spec for $479. Added a year of extended warranty (2 total) and used 10% coupon to bring it to $501 after tax. With the AMEX $100 should come out to $401.

Just a heads-up for anyone considering this deal. After researching for a couple of hours, I found that the HP OmniBook offers the exact same AMD processor and graphics. The key difference is that HP has a much better customizable display option for only $70 more.

Is the HP laptop also soldered on ram? Seems like a non-start to me for this laptop.

link? or at least more details on where to find it? Only one I saw with that $70 screen upgrade also forced CPU/Graphics card upgrade that ran up a few hundred more.

Pro is a business class machine that is better made to last with higher quality materials, like a stronger hinge, etc to last and stand up to travel. Doesn't really have to do with the specs. This is available in a bunch of configurations.

I also believe pro models are designed to be compatible with thunderbolt 4 (usb c) docks. Therefore it can be charged via USB C. Some competitors can match the specs, but dont have TB4/USB-C charging. Lawmakers should pass the law and make all devices to utilize usb-c charging & power sharing capabilities.

You're right, it requires the Ryzen 7 AI 350 and brings the total up to $739.

Soldered memory… 16GB isn't what it used to be.

If my research is right while it's the older Ryzen 5 Pro it has the 760m GPU which edges out the 840m in the 16" model listed. Given the computer has 16gb of RAM, I don't see doing AI in any big way, so the better NPU is less relevant to me. Plus I really don't want a 16" laptop.

The 14" just made more sense for me.
