Great game but the grind can be rough (by design of course - Sony would prefer you spend money to unlock things rather than earn them). Still, to their credit they continue to offer tons of new free content for those willing to hang in there and stack their race winnings.
Also, the game is AMAZING in VR - this and No Man's Sky are the games that make the PSVR2 set feel like it was worth the cost.

Excellent game. They still put out weekly challenges to keep it fresh. And still bring out new cars in free updates (not paid dlc like most games).

You must be new to gran turismo. Polyphony digital has always been a grind since 25+ years of Gran Turismo. (Youtube gran turismo 24hour lemans rubber band trick)

GT is a racing simulator. You're not going to get stuff that Forza gives you like rewind and lane guidance. That being said it out isn't overly difficult
