Most of the oxide stuff leaves your body and is not absorbed. Magnesium Glycinate is what you want. Unfortunately most prescriptions are for the oxide stuff, that doesn't mean it is better.
Magnesium oxide is trash. Poorly absorbed and a cheap filler. Better off with citrate, malate, or glycinate.
I'd suggest glycinate. ππ
It's not trash. It's what the ICU will give you when you are low on Mag. The reason the pseudo science myths about mag ox started is because people think absorption rates are the end all be all but magox actually has so much more elemental mag to begin with compared to the other salts that it more than makes up for the inferior absorption rates. It literally delivers more mag to your tissues than any other mag salt. People who say they get less side effects with other salts are saying that because they literally are getting less mag in their tissues to even get side effects from. It's not to say the glycinate/citrate etc don't have their own reactions/effects in the body but just looking at magnesium alone, mag ox is EXCELLENT.

Fair enough. Last I looked into it the information said otherwise, but that was years ago. Suppose I'll have to look into it again to confirm.

I don't blame you for thinking it's trash because it's like the biggest internet fake science myth out there. This is a good article by a supplement company explaining why they intentionally chose magox that helps explain what I was saying: https://blog.algaecal.com/magnesi...wer-pills/
