It wasn't that bad. I've seen a lot of worse movies in the theater lately. So I would give it a 6 or a B-. The visuals and audio were very impressive in IMAX 3D and it had a lot of action even if the story itself wasn't that good and Jared isn't the best choice. It's one of those movies people should see in IMAX 3D just for the experience.

In my opinion, Tron Ares is no worse than your average Marvel movie these days and at least Tron Ares knows "its lane" and doesn't try to be funny and fail like Marvel movies. I enjoyed it more than the Captain America Harrison Ford hulk one or the last 2 Venoms.

It's definitely a flop. There wasn't a market for this. It's crazy that they even made this movie. Tron: Legacy flopped, too. There's just a small, but very vocal fanbase, that made it seem like people really wanted another Tron. It also didn't help that they cast Jared Leto.

Saw it on Saturday, and it feels like a 90s movie. The 3d and soundtrack really really enhanced it.

i saw it. it was not painfully bad, but if you have a average home theater (65"4K 2+1 sound) best wait till it's on streaming unless you can easily afford a 4dfx or imax ticket. fanboys who wanted a follow up to legacy got a bone tossed to them near the end, and social media complaining about girl boss and wokeness - have something new to monetize off of. i do hope the studio and theaters break even on this, since them losing money does not help workers or consumers.

So I'm guessing you didn't see this movie in IMAX, it's a movie theatre movie, the movies main premise (visuals), and those tickets ain't cheap.

To all, the Rotten Tomatoes scores both in critics and audience, are higher than Legacy. Not sure what everyone was expecting? Even Legacy was exposition in the first 30m and then it was all visuals and action for the rest. People on YT, like Critical Drinker, and ragging on this movie so bad, and yet...RT scores are higher than Legacy. That's why go watch it for yourself without a pre disclosed opinion from others.
I admit I find Critical Drinker funny, but his opinions on movies are to be ignored. He is, at this point, paid to hate everything.

Does it acknowledge or explain away Legacy at all?
Barely. But I don't think it wanted to. This movie is only about making Tron more visceral, and it does that very well. Funny enough, after the movie I told my son Tron is now the prequel to Star Trek.

How boring is YOUR life to be judging complete strangers on the Internet based on one movie? Let me guess, you're 'not like other girls' are you?

why give these people your money? these movies are so lame. how boring is your life to find this entertaining?
I haven't watched Tron Ares yet, but Legacy was a feast for the eyes and ears. Probably one of the best original soundtracks for any movie I've ever seen.

I also don't watch the John Wick movies expecting Shakespeare, but I can enjoy it for the impressive choreography.

why is imax so expensive? $24 to $26 at the imax theaters around me
My theater, Boeing IMAX, is run by the Pacific Science Theater. PSC has corporate sponsors, but is maintained by admissions fees and donations. The screen is a true IMAX screen, nearly as tall as it is wide. The theaters run by AMC here are LIE-max, where it maybe wider than their normal screen, it isn't nearly as tall as it is wide.I'd say 40% of the movie was IMAX cameras.Top Gun: Maverick and The Dark Knight were different movies regular theater screens VS real IMAX screen.

I saw this in 4dx (my first time). I knew what I was getting into; there wasn't going to be a logical story or amazing acting performances... Fast and the Furious experience. I definitely wouldn't watch this if weren't for gimmicks for 4dx or IMAX experience.

I give it a 5 or 6/10 with the gimmick theater experience making it feel like a ride.

It's the same exact movie quality as Jurassic World.

But many people going are NIN fans trying to save money on concert tickets. Which I might do, hehe.

I saw it at IMAX and I was disappointed. The effects were great but the story sucked and the fight scenes were way too fake looking. Jared Leto was horrible too. NIN shouldn't have been hired for the sound. Daft should have came back.

I saw it and the music is not NIN. It's NIN trying to be Daft P
