It wasn't that bad. I've seen a lot of worse movies in the theater lately. So I would give it a 6 or a B-. The visuals and audio were very impressive in IMAX 3D and it had a lot of action even if the story itself wasn't that good and Jared isn't the best choice. It's one of those movies people should see in IMAX 3D just for the experience.

In my opinion, Tron Ares is no worse than your average Marvel movie these days and at least Tron Ares knows "its lane" and doesn't try to be funny and fail like Marvel movies. I enjoyed it more than the Captain America Harrison Ford hulk one or the last 2 Venoms.

It's definitely a flop. There wasn't a market for this. It's crazy that they even made this movie. Tron: Legacy flopped, too. There's just a small, but very vocal fanbase, that made it seem like people really wanted another Tron. It also didn't help that they cast Jared Leto.

I'm in it to listen to Nine Inch Nails in IMAX. The movie is secondary.

I haven't seen the movie, but listened to the soundtrack twice and the music is definitely NIN.

Heard opening day box office numbers were worse than Morbius. That's saying a lot.

Marvel and trying to force B list actors into being very poor timed comedians. Like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich: it goes so well together. I watched Guardians of the Galaxy (the first film). Didn't even chuckle. It was so bad. 😂

My theater, Boeing IMAX, is run by the Pacific Science Theater. PSC has corporate sponsors, but is maintained by admissions fees and donations. The screen is a true IMAX screen, nearly as tall as it is wide. The theaters run by AMC here are LIE-max, where it maybe wider than their normal screen, it isn't nearly as tall as it is wide.I'd say 40% of the movie was IMAX cameras.Top Gun: Maverick and The Dark Knight were different movies regular theater screens VS real IMAX screen.
AMC Norwalk has what I think is, and in your words, "true IMAX screen"

why give these people your money? these movies are so lame. how boring is your life to find this entertaining?
Next time, enlighten/teach us "your money-worth movies" would be nice, other than simply dropped a SILLY comment, degrade people and thinking you're BETTER.

My god - it's THAT bad?
Seriously people - the modern bar is so colossally bad. Just go watch movies from the 80's and 90's like Stand By Me, Bladerunner, Aliens, or something and tell me there is ANYTHING coming out of Hollywood that isn't just outright cinematic vomit.
It's probably why I quit going to movies - and I used to love going to new movies every week.

It was visually the best movie I've seen in years. The soundtrack was awesome, Jared Leto wasn't terrible. I'd pay to see it again just for the music and special effects.

its good for what it is, that is an amazing 3d light and sound show with some very good chase sequences. the premise, the story for tron is silly especially for those with technical knowledge. So dont go for it. ai-human-program-human representations, why do you care. you dont go to tron for all that philosophical stuff. Watch ghost in the shell or something else for all that. You go to tron for the background score and lights ! Music is no daft punk but its decent.
The negative reviews are from those who expected something different like higher level mumbo jumbo or more story like legacy, something deeper for those invested in the fantasy. i was not expecting any of that. Legacy dealt with that stuff but then i found it slow. Ares is for everyone. Pacing is much better. Imax is important . you need that full aspect ratio for many of the scenes.
You would need oled tv set and atmos sound to enjoy it at home. Everyone does not have that. so watch it once but in the theater.

I liked it, matinee in Dolby Theater. The Visuals & Audio were excellent, and the movie itself was good but not great. First movie I watched in a Theater since Dune 2... and I thought it was worth it.
