This isn't the polyester of the 1970s. Great for everyday use β€” not for sports, not for backpacking where I definitely use different socks.
Nothing of the plastic/ polyester is going into my body. My feet never stink or sweat in these types, *if* we'll-made β€” that's a function of paying attention to foot care every single day. Also I live in the PNW and heat and humidity are not an issue – I never were sweaty shoes, either.
They'll last a very long while if they're made well (which from reviews seems like they are), so they are more environmentally-sustainable than cotton socks (which wear out and lose their shape more quickly unless they're very expensively-made).
I've got no dislike for cotton socks (I actually generally like the feel a bit better), but my skin is not sensitive and I've never had any foot issues as some people do, So there's no advantage to cotton (for me) over these for their intended use.

Good to hear. Incredibly low price for decent socks, it seems, with a 4.7 rating and good materials. Got one of each, I'm set for everyday socks for the next… 2–3 years?

Oh man! Lost out because of my big feet (XL), which are double the price. Those big feet have caused me issues all my life. Hahahaha.

Bought these last year and wore daily all winter. They were warm, comfortable and held up extremely well to heavy use. Don't think you can beat them at this price point.

What an ugly color 😑
I like it, both sets. In fact, when I saw the listing my immediate thought was "oh wow, what cool colors!"

To each their own, but no reason to comment just because you don't like the color.

Also preference, to a point. It is a high poly content compared to what I'm used to buying for socks but at least they aren't a poly/acrylic blend. The poly hate seems to be a regular complaint on this site, as if anything less than 100% cotton is bad but counterpoint: I'd never buy 100% cotton either because once it gets wet it take forever to dry and tends to retain sweat.

So, personally, I like poly blends. 72% seems high, but that's about what my skivvies (Jockey) come in and those have been the best, most durable underwear I've owned and also the best when it comes to not getting swampass on a humid day or when working hard. so... the number isn't concerning. I'd base a decision on reviews, not fiber content.

(edit) all the pairs are different fabric content anyway
Blue: 76% Polyester/23% Cotton/1% Spandex, Lt. Grey: 62% Cotton/37% Polyester/1% Spandex, Charcoal: 50% Cotton/49% Polyester/1% Spandex

(edit) blues are now $5 with coupon and the other set is now up to $9.. so might be regional or Amazon is playing pricing games.
