My guess would be poor quality control. If everyone said that they fit snug, that would be indicative of the cut/style. But to have several different reviews with conflicting information indicates that there's a lack of quality control, and/or they're mass produced in several factories that each do something a little different, so they're inconsistent.

If they are going to use a model for the jeans in the picture, they should have him wear the correct size as it looks like baggy Def Jam Fight For NY video game 90s jeans. The model is obviously wearing the size too big for his 5'6" height and 31" waist. Look how long the length is and you can see all the folds around his ankles. It shouldn't be like that. In the other pictures of the other models with the stone washed and khaki tint, it actually looks like a correct relaxed fit for an adult.
