Cons:
- Power hungry - This laptop will not last long away from a plug, but at 17" it's really more of a desktop replacement anyways.
- Older OS - Windows 10 Home (May be a pro for those who hate Win11)
- Older CPU - Zen 3 CPU on a 7nm process. Again, heat and power draw.
- No NPU - Not ideal for Gen AI workloads.
- Older GPU - GTX 3800 does not have DLSS
- EDIT: 3800 DOES have DLSS, but does not have AI Frame Generation which can improve frame rates in newer games that are designed to take advantage of it.
- Older Ports - USB-C, but at 4 years old it's probably not PD or DP.
Pros:- Price/Performance ratio - At this price you are comparing it to a 4050 or a 5060 GPU laptop
- Nice FHD Screen - 7.3-inch display features a blazing-fast 360Hz refresh rate and Full HD resolution.
- Upgradeable RAM - Not Soldered.
- 2 Year Warrantee - With how old this laptop is, you might end up getting a "replacement" or some money back.
If you just want a nice big responsive screen for FHD gaming, think e-sports type games then this 4 year old laptop with a 3080 and high end Zen 3 CPU will probably do the trick. You'll most likely be tied to a power outlet and USB transfers will seem slow compared to newer laptops, but you can upgrade the RAM reasonably cheaply and you might even get a more modern upgrade from the warrantee if something fails.I would probably pass myself since gaming is 30-50% of my use case and I'd want a more modern CPU/NPU and better battery life/energy efficiency, but I can see a use case where this laptop at ~$850might be the best bang for your buck in terms of gaming performance at FHD.

Pretty good summary with one correction. The 3080 of course still has DLSS. The only obvious notable missing feature would be frame generation, but DLSS would be 100% compatible.
