Price is always tempting getting end of season window A/C's, but these things really are not meant to be shipping individually (the packaging is designed to be palletized through the shipping process, and then sold at the end point retailer). Putting these things individually back into shipping to the end customer, is a roll of the dice. Same goes for the portable units. I've had some come through OK, I've had others with dented coils, dented frames, cracked plastic covers, etc. I also wonder about the long term impact to the compressor when these things take drops on the conveyor at the hubs and then thrown onto a truck.

I highly highly recommend that you immediately open it up when you receive it and inspect it, and not just put it on a shelf for next summer. You have 30 days to discover and report damage to Amazon.

Yah I'd definitely second the idea of checking it as soon as it arrives. It's a great buy out of season, but I wouldn't buy it and put it immediately into storage without checking it first.

With the cost of energy rising drastically, I'd be looking at the Energy Guide label, which Amazon is not providing. Thankfully someone in the reviews did - this unit is less efficient than others you could get.
