Since they're not in the pack, I'm not sure if they were in the first place when shipped or are these used loose batteries.

Based on what I have read, these are made by Duracell and many consumers (including myself) have observed leaking issues with Duracell batteries.
I'm not sure about any difference in capacity, but mainly based on the leaking issues, I think I'm going to try a pack of these.
Hope this helps a little!
wouldn't it be more cost effective to use rechargeables?
im kinda torn because throw aways are def more convenient.
ive had to toss about 15 rechargable engergizers just because they dont hold a charge after like a year.
For my Costco membership, it looks like the Kirkland AAA are $15.99 for 48 with free 2 day shipping. With tax it comes up a little over $17

I used to use rechargable batteries almost exclusively. Eneloop, Eneloop pro, etc... and they work well until they don't. I've tossed more Eneloop and Eneloop pro's than I'd ever care to, especially due to the high price of them! They would work fine but then some would stop charging and flash an error light. I used them in camera flashes, and the output of them also didn't compare to regular AA batteries unless you bought the high voltage rechargables.. I ended up switching to mostly disposables and haven't gone back.
The big benefit to them for me is the fact they don't leak. I've had about 4-5 cases of Duracell's leaking into my devices.. but in every case, Duracell quickly cut a check to cover the full value of the item
