The way they add/remove features between iterations to upsell you is absurdly confusing.

I recently picked up the Osmo Mobile 7 (not 7P) on the Amazon Prime days open box specials for roughly the same price ~$50

the 7 is lacking / 6 has:
> the scroll wheel on the side,
> the extendable pole
> comes in black

but 7 does have / 6 does not have:
> a built-in tripod
> and i guess 7 has longer operating time?

damn, this is goofily done

You're thinking of selfie sticks.

This is a gimbal which leans toward use by more professionally-oriented and people a bit more serious about videography than just casual selfie-takers

6 has a built-in tripod. You can see it on the very first pic of OP's post, and confirm it on DJI's website: https://www.dji.com/osmo-mobile-6/specs

It's a screw-on attachment, not slide-out legs like on the OM7.

The OM7 and OM7P don't need to carry an additional tripod, three legs just slide out of the handle. It's entirely separate on the 6.

Screw on attachment doesn't seem like it would be a deal breaker. Any reason not to purchase this over some of the recent deals I missed out on?

You are getting screw-on attached by buying this garbage

It looks goofy, but wait till you try watching your shaky phone footage of your kid's first bike ride. I'll take "low respect" and a stable memory over nausea-inducing footage any day

Has anyone used the active tracker feature to record sports (like soccer) and if so how well does it work? Thanks in advance.
