This is a Squier, NOT a Fender.

The Affinity series isn't bad but definitely not nearly as nice as the Classic Vibe line, there's a jump in quality. I'd only recommend this if you're really looking to scratch a Jaguar itch, but the CV Strat that got posted is a better deal IMO

That's good advice. Affinity used to mean better on older used Squires "by Fender"; now "Affinity" depends. And yes you should know the quirks of the Jag bridge going-in; before buying. Not a terrible deal though. It looks like it might be the big ole fat CBS head stock though. For those who prefer the 70's look.

Nothing matters but the specific quality of the guitar and it's parts you receive. Verify it's covered by an easy return policy. Setup will almost always need to be custom tweaked, to your playing style and preference. You may have to add a new bone style (or TUSQ) nut optionally to balance a perfect setup. It's easy. It pays to learn how to properly setup any guitar. Because you don't want to have to take it in for service repetitively.

'Investment' guitars can be done; but they are more for looking at than using, by far. Not your best investment type. Meaning there are far better investments and "making a killing" is rare. Usually not mentioned are the more numerous guitar "investment" loss failures; that offset the rare total profits. Guitars are largely expenses and where you can make a $58 guitar do the same exact thing. Without throwing expensive parts on it. The industry "secret".

Fender electric guitars were designed to be inexpensive to make. Today's mass produced guitars are mostly made better, tighter, and with parts improvements at a very low cost. If you buy right (slick deal) then mass production can work for you.
