A good deal for PLA these days is around $8, perhaps $9 if not in bulk, regardless of brand. This is pretty much an every day price.

Elegoo (which sub-branded as DeepLee) has been my go-to brand since I started 3D printing; I've never had an issue with their stuff.
Needed to restock on a few colors and use this to try out a few more of theirs as well.

Thank you for your incite as usual. Elegoo PLA+ & especially when you can mix and match colors doesn't hit $8-$9. "Regardless of brand" is inaccurate for sure and a disservice to those new to 3d printing. If you have used this filament, you wouldn't feel it's the same as Kingroon or even the Sunlus (which is also very good) of the world.

Looking at my spreadsheet, I'm at 228 different filaments used in the past year (I'd say more than 60% of them being PLA variants) when I started keeping track. The only PLA I would rate with the Elegoo PLA+ is some of the Polymaker which never hits this price. For most use cases, it is better than their basic, rapid and pro variants.

Accurate. Polymaker and Elegoo are at the top of my list as far as quality filament goes...I use their 10/$99 deal all the time for one-color volume purchases and it's still a great deal at that price. Getting to mix and match and still get that price is an absolute W.

YMMV Not sure this will work for everyone... I added 10 PLA matte to my cart and added the coupon code to see if it would work on that (it didn't). I then removed the matte and added pla +. As you add then to your cart, the first 3 are free. You'll have to pay $15 shipping. That works out to $5 a roll.
Edit: You don't have to go through the process of adding 10 matte to cart. Just add 3 pla + and apply the coupon.

Can confirm I just placed an order for this one using this method and was able to get the 3 rolls for $15

Two things: I've used 15+ different filament brands. There are absolutely better brands than others. While Elegoo may be considered a more "budget" brand, it prints like a more premium brand and is absolutely one of my go-to's for consistency and quality. Second: If you look at a price watch table, Elegoo over the entire last year, sits at $14.99 with a couple of rare drops to $12.75 and $11.90 at its lowest (on Amazon) in the latter part of this year. You won't find this at $8 or $9. This isn't eSun or Kingroon or TecBears. $10 IS absolutely a good deal for this.

theres always someone out there to crap on a deal, that they can do better. Even when they're not comparing apples to oranges, and they most certainly are not. Troll elsewhere. This is a good deal.

Sea green. LOL.... just kidding. Black or white is my go to. Probably at a ratio of 5:1 to any other color. But, having the other colors around when you need them is pretty cool.

Its heavily project dependent but I always have a roll of grey, black, and white around.

black and white. if you're going to design things you'll be prototyping a LOT and that can eat up the basics.
I got the soleyin <$7 roll deal from eBay a while ago and since the quality on them is good enough (but clings to the build plate like it's hanging on for life) I started prototyping with that more.
but I'll always move to white/black when finalizing.
