Considering that the people who currently own this basically stole the creator's life's work, and that he gets NOTHING from any sales of the game ... this is one of the rare instances where I'd suggest that one obtain the software illegitimately now matter how low the price, unless you just absolutely have to have the steam cloud save sync.

This is worth full price. I originally couldn't get into it. There was so much hype, and I just didn't see what was so great about it. I tried it for about an hour and called it quits. Then I came back to it months later, just because I felt like I had wasted money on it and I should at least try to play it more (I had it on PS4 first, and couldn't refund it). After about 4 hours, I was completely hooked. I never wanted it to end. There's an ungodly amount of (very strange) dialogue, so I did skip quite a bit of it, but even with the skipping, I still got a lot out of it. This still won't be for everyone, but if you're not liking it at first, I recommend sticking with it for several hours. If you still can't get into it after that, at least you have it a shot and only lost a few bucks.

Interesting story.. I learned something new.

From what I can tell, the only solidly verified info is that some of the original developers were forced out of the company. The claim that they aren't receiving any royalties from the game, though, looks more like speculation from fans.

Do you have a source for that part?

This is a great game but no one should pay even a single dime for this right now as the IP is stolen from the original writers. Everyone should instead pirate it. It is the moral thing to do.

I thought this was an adventure game like the monkey Island series, didn't expect to suddenly see the game over after 3 hours. Going to start a new game with different choices soon.

Yeah I've had it on my steam library for a year or two now. Think I'm finally going to play it after a friend shared a tweet that was like "The most realistic game moment I've ever seen is when you run into the last surviving communist in this world setting, and if you played your character and specced him as a communist he calls you a "fuc**ng liberal"".

And ... if you know anything about "left" spaces that is the realest funniest most accurate experience possible.
