Current Conversion Rate
3:2 conversion ratio: 3 years of Xbox Game Pass Core converts to 2 years of Game Pass Ultimate
This only works if you let your current subscription expire completely first
If you convert while having an active subscription, the ratio becomes much worse (3:1)
How It Works (2025)
Let your current Game Pass Ultimate subscription expire
Purchase up to 3 years of Xbox Game Pass Core (formerly Xbox Live Gold) - around $180 total
Redeem all Core subscriptions first
Buy 1 month of Game Pass Ultimate (~$15-20) to trigger the conversion
Your 3 years of Core converts to 2 years of Game Pass Ultimate
Cost Breakdown
3 years Game Pass Core: ~$180 (sometimes on sale for $120)
1 month Game Pass Ultimate: ~$15-20
Total: ~$195-200 for 2 years of Ultimate = $8.12-8.33 per month
