Do some research on these if you are interested and not aware of the recent changes. Appearantly they moved production to Mexico and QC on those isn't good. Things like poor machining/debris and burs on the metal, excessive glue/loose bits of glue, louvers on the center tube not fully punched, that sort of stuff. Same with Bosch premium which I guess is now the same filter with a different paint job and sticker. I doubt these QC issues will stick around given they are pretty critical on a product like this, but who knows how many poor quality ones are floating around out there.

I did pick up a few on a similar Amazon deal on the PL14610 version (Honda). They arrived a couple days ago and were the older made in USA ones, so there's that. Might just be clearing out old stock.

And to be clear, I'm not crapping on where they originate or anything like that. Just some awareness to decide if its worth the gamble to you and if you do end up with the newer ones, to thoroughly check them before using rather than blindly throwing them on.

Stuffs from Mexico are generally of poorer quality. My go to oil filters today are the Champ/Champion at Rockauto. The $1.75 version fits most Toyota. Has nylon core (for those concerned about blocked center tube). It's the same filter sold by Wal Mart (Super Tech) and AC Delco.

The pressure drop across most new filters at 75% flow is approximately 4-5 psi (nominal operating temperature). No need to pay more for expensive filters since filtration efficiency improves with use. Change filter every 5000 to 6000 miles to keep pressure drop to a minimum (optimize mass flow rate).
