I think a lot of the frequent posters and commenters on these SD posts are those who would want to resell the phones, and this isn't a good deal for them, despite the plan itself being a good value. I agree it's a good deal for someone who wants a new iPhone that doesn't need the latest and greatest (and doesn't want to spend too much money). And probably a decent number of frequenters of SD forums already bought a recent annual plan (see paragraph below). I'd say for a customer who is in need of a phone and wants the Visible+ Pro plan, the only risk is if they jump in and buy this plan + phone deal before confirming that Visible service is a good fit for them (due to coverage needs or otherwise)

There was a recent BYOD iPhone deal with Visible+ Pro annual plan giving 12 months of service for $225, and people were getting discounts and cash back deals that brought the cost of the annual plan to under $150 at times IIRC, which kind of makes this deal feel a bit less slick.

Last December, I actually needed/wanted a second phone for work, to keep my apps separate, at a time that coincided with Visible's $395 Visible+ annual plan with free iPhone 13. I didn't realize how helpful to my workflow it was to have a separate phone number and phone itself for the work apps for when my job gets busy. Great deal. I'm still on the annual plan from last December. I have no regrets. It worked for my use case.

Exactly! I feel like iPhone 14 series (including the pros) is the worst one to get now. Go with 13 for SIM card tray or go with 15 to get type C. 14 is really an odd choice at this point of time.

True, but this will get an extra year of updates compared to the 13. If you plan on keeping the phone until updates stop, the 14 is the way to go. With how little change there is between generations on modern phones, keeping a phone long term is much more viable.

Plus tax on the $150 phone with the deal from Total (for those who live where sales tax is charged which is probably many of us). And Visible gets a person another 9 months of service for about $100 (depends on sales tax paid to total). As the Visible phone is free, there is no sales tax.

I need a mobile plan. Back in Germany I used those deals, sold the phone for like EUR 300-400 and got a year or even two years of a mobile plan for like EUR 50 - 100. Seems to be the same here. If you know cheaper ways to get a unlimited data 20-30gb mobile plan let me know.

It was cheaper last month when I bought it. Phone was $99 + $165 for three months on 5g unlimited. Will port to a cheaper plan after three months
