Hear me out. I've used those electronics repair mats before. The little pockets for screws and bits seem useful at first, but over time they just collect dust, oil, and glue. They are a PITA to clean.
I've switched to silicone baking mats instead. They're cheaper, easier to find in many sizes, and simpler to keep clean.

Looks to be the exact same thing as this on Amazon for $17 without the Weller branding and in blue color. slightly more expensive regular price on Amazon but not anywhere near the MSRP

Sure if you're buying a soldering station, but this is a silicon mat. What warranty would envision needing on this?

But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me."

Website indicated my store had 6. Went and couldn't find any. Eventually I matched the sku to a sku on a box up top in the overstock area. An associate pulled it down and we had fun taking turns blowing off a layer of dust like we had just found a thousand year old artifact.

Long story short check up top in the soldering supplies aisle if you can't find any in your store.

Saw some of these when I was grabbing the fume extractor early. They're so small and this price is basically MSRP if you get one without the Weller logo.

Personally I use this one - much larger and more useful for actual workflow. $25 was well worth it. I probably have 500 hours in building custom cables on it since I picked it up.

Interesting feedback. Serious question -- do you think it would clean-up well in a dishwasher? I've put lots of household items (dog toys too) and have been very surprised at how well they come out.

You can put it in the dishwasher.

I have a Kobalt tool silicone mat that has been used many times for refilling ferrofluid in audio speakers.

Just wash it out in the dishwasher like a baking mat

These are also great for RC car workstations. Helps keep small parts organized and in the correct place. Easy to clean of dirt/grease. Portable so you can roll it up and take it with you to work on a park bench, tailgate or tree stump....

I'm using even cheaper silicone mats for pets and feeding, then using gridfinity 3D printed bins and trays to customize around the mat for my hobbies.

Went with this one. I don't know who needs to hear this but all of these are made in the same factory in China

That's a pretty cheap price for a solid work mat for soldering. Last one I bought [amazon.com] was back in 2022 (over 3 years ago) which isn't as big cost me $14.11. I'm still on the look out for a decent replacement solder iron even though my current one still works, but it's dull as f*** and w/o much precision. Any quality suggestions at a reasonable price would be helpful.
