Bought this as a preorder earlier this year and received it around May. The printer did not print out of the box for me. Having owned a Bambu Labs P1S, I was sorely disappointed considering all of the reviews stating how easy it was to set up.

Long story short, it started clogging from day 1. No matter what I did and how many times I unclogged it, it would continue to clog. It took about 3 months to get the issue fixed. To be fair though, a lot of those 3 months were me being out of the country and/or not feeling like dealing with a clogged printer.

Credit to Elegoo's customer service who were pretty good about helping out. They sent me a replacement extruder at no cost, which didn't help with the clogging issue. They ended up sending me the entire printer head and that finally fixed the problem. Now that it's working, I have to say at times it prints better than my P1S.

Would I suggest this printer? Yeah if you aren't a total noob to 3D printing. If you are and just want the most minimal hassle, I suggest waiting for a sale and spending a little bit more for a Bambu.

Such a shady company. They advertised that an AMS was coming for this printer, but now they've shifted all attention to their new Century Carbon 2 model instead. There are rumors that the AMS will eventually be compatible with this one, but nothing has been confirmed.

They also use sketchy "pre-order" tactics- they claim special pre-order pricing, but it never changes. This printer was supposedly $299 during preorder with a "retail" price of $500, yet it's still $299 months later. Apparently, all their printers follow the same pricing gimmick.

I added one to my cart on eBay, from their official eBay store, and they sent me an offer for it at $255 (plus the usual $30 shipping) and it came out to right about $307 shipped ($255+30 shipping+ $22 tax).

Not sure if that saves anyone money or if they would send you the same, or any, offer, but if your are considering this printer then maybe try adding one to your cart and wait a day or two to see if they send an offer. Mine was before the announcement of V2 as well so they may be getting even more aggressive with the discounts to clear out inventory.

edit: this is the specific listing I used to add to my cart ... https://ebay.us/m/GZPYnh

I just bought this 3d printer as my first printer as well and I highly recommend it. I was able to price match the manufacturer website at Microcenter.

I am looking to find a 3D printer for commercial purposes, obviously in that scenario bed size and print speed are king - but I am a bit overwhelmed by all the options between Bambu, Flashforge, Creality, Elegoo etc.

And I am sure there are other things that I am not taking into consideration that would maybe stand out to some more experienced printers.

Wondering if y'all have any suggestions on where to start here, I'm trying to end up in the $500 range but obviously don't mind more investment if it'll really count.

What kind of commercial purpose? Some people need a large build volume and some people need a printer that can use industrial filaments.

At this point, you should wait until Black Friday, when all printers will be at a low price, unless tariffs kick in.

Not much of a sale. $20 off regular price. Maybe Black Friday will have a real sale.

I should've clarified further, commercial in the sense of a "printer-for-hire" type deal, maybe sell a few (properly licensed) creations on Facebook marketplace or to friends and family to recoup the cost of the printer.

$20 off of a $600 Bambu isn't much, but off of a $299 printer? Probably as low as this will get for a long time.

Still a damn good printer for $300. I just hit print and it prints. At a nice quality as well.
If you need AMS today, look elsewhere but if you aren't worried about AMS, it makes a great beginner printer.
