Oxford shoes are generally considered nice shoes that lean towards the formal. They are a staple of men's footwear that leans into a versatile and traditional style. You could get away with wearing them like a pair of nice casual walking shoes, but they are more commonly paired with a nice pair of slacks. Oxfords are traditionally a uniform color, but these ones go for something a bit more modern, stylish, and casual by having contrasting white soles. There's always an ongoing debate as to whether this color-contrasting style of shoe looks good or not, but maybe the ultimate answer depends on personal preference.
With that being said, I would not suggest wearing these for a wedding where the dress code is a tuxedo. Tuxedos are traditionally worn with all-black leather shoes, with all-black oxfords being a safe choice. These shoes, with their white soles and brown lining, will stand in stark contrast to the rest of your outfit and will likely look mismatched with your tuxedo (and everyone else's tuxedos if they're all wearing all-black shoes). You could wear them if you wanted to stand out and make a fashion statement, but I would get approval from the wedding party first. Personally, I'd play it safe with a pair of all-black oxfords.

Business Causal. These are derby shoes vs proper oxfords which are more formal. The plus side is that a $20 work shoe at Costco is a sure fire way to match half the other middle aged men at the office 👌

As an earlier commenter suggested: if you are renting the tuxedo, consider renting the shoes as well. If the shoes will only be worn as part of an outfit for a one-off special occasion, save the cash with a rental rather than an entire purchase.
With that being said, black oxfords are super versatile shoes for nice occasions, so they would be good purchases if you do need to dress nicely on occasion. It has been a while since I last went shopping for oxfords, but below are some brands that I can recommend across a few cost tiers. This is by no means an exhaustive list and I'm sure some people may disagree with my picks, so feel free to search online for other recommendations as well; the r/malefashionadvice subreddit is a good starting place for recommendations.
  • If you want the cheapest good-enough shoes: Dockers
  • Good value shoes: Clarks, Florsheim
  • Upgrade picks: Allen Edmonds (second-hand), Meermin (second-hand), Thursday Boot Company, Johnston & Murphy
No matter what brand you go with, I strongly suggest trying out the shoes first before committing to any. Zappos.com has a large variety of shoes and a generous return policy, so feel free to try on a bunch of different shoes until you find the ones that are right for you.
Strongly agree on the Allen Edmonds. I have a large collection of these that have worn beautifully for more than 25 years (I purchased all of them new). That said, there are VERY occasions now where I would wear them in the post COVID no-dress-code world.
