It seems like this does not have an elevated laptop sleeve for those who care. For those who don't know, that just means that the laptop won't touch the ground if you put the laptop down since the laptop is raised up.

The XL has a separate side loading laptop compartment, and it is elevated indeed.

Also, they recently came out with a slightly updated version of this bag. At this price, the small changes are not worth paying so much more.

I didn't see a coupon, but this appears to be eligible for 30% off AmEx Rewards offer. That would get it down to $45.50.

Are these bags worth it? They still seem expensive even after sales. I got an old Jansport from a decade ago.

I am not sure about value. To each their own I guess. I have a Osprey hiking bag that I like a lot. For me the lack of space between the bag bottom and bottom of the laptop sleeve is a dealbreaker for my use case. For others it probably won't matter.

Reviews mention no padding? I owned and used this with my MacBook pro for a few years. The separate compartment is elevated, maybe there isn't much padding underneath that, I never really thought about it. Used it as a personal item and frequent carry often. Never had an issue.
