Not necessarily better than 9800x3d. If you utilize the 4 extra cores for productivity and dont need the absolute best gaming performance then this makes a lot of sense though. Its still a monster gaming cpu.

My understanding is that the 9800x3d is a single 8 core chiplet with 3d v-cache, while 9900x3d is two 6 core chiplets - one with 3d v-cache and one standard. So when gaming it would only use the v-cache chiplet and essentially be a 6 core cpu.
