I just bought a long hose for it and where possible I try to keep this thing outside while vacuuming in the shop/garage. Helps with both noise and dust issues.
Got one , then one day loud noise. They refused to stand by lifetime warranty. It's a deafening loud whinny sound. Still work . Get a different brand.
Make a threat to them that you are going to file a complaint with the FTC and your state AG if they don't honor the warranty. If they still refuse then follow thru on said threats.

IMO: Only thing that matters is CFM. anything else is marketing. Get a 40 hp vacuum that moves 20 CFM... garbage. 2 hp vacuum moving 150+ CFM... awesome.
