The onboard tanks are a bunch of complication that can fail and they don't really do anything besides provide a fine spray that a hand spray bottle can easily replicate. The key function is powerful suction to get the water and nasty stuff out.
How is the emptying/cleanout of these for purely liquid loads? The only problem is the carpet cleaners will STINK if you don't get them well rinsed and dry.

So I bought one and just tried using it to clean up some pet vomit using a spray bottle.
Needs more testing, but I'm not sure it is an improvement over the little 2 tank spot cleaners (mine is Hart-branded from a slickdeal a few years ago). Some observations:
- Suction seems better which was my real goal--need to do a bit more testing but I *think* it is leaving the area more dry.
- Tools are not as good as the dedicated tool on the spot cleaner. The wet suction tool has a soft rubber/plastic that I am sure works great as a squeegee on hard surfaces, but it just makes it harder to move on carpet. It also isn't see-through which is surprisingly helpful for being able to tell whether you need to keep sucking or can move on. The built in scrub brush is also nice vs having to keep switching tools... So if I go this direction, I will either seek out a new cleaning tool or modify my old Hart tool to fit the shark hose.
- My home depot spray bottle does not put out the same kind of volume as the auto sprayer on the spot cleaner. Need to do a lot of squeezing if you are trying to really saturate an area. May need to experiment with other sprayer options.
- Cleanup is a little annoying. Sure it has that nice bucket, but the orange cone filter also needs to be removed and cleaned, and then the TOP of the unit itself is dirty. The top is easily removable for cleaning, but now you're juggling 3 parts. The tank on the carpet cleaner is easier to deal with.
- It is loud enough that I feel like I should have some hearing protection on (especially since the hose is short and you are kneeling down with your head right next to the unit). I usually throw on my noise cancelling earbuds when using my Hart spot cleaner, and this feels even louder.
So I will experiment a little more. For $50 I feel OK with it, but I'd be unhappy if I paid anywhere near MSRP or what Costco was selling it for. It is obviously more versatile than the spot cleaner, so if you only have occasional spot cleaning it may be a good option...but with an elderly pet that has the spot cleaner coming out on a weekly basis, I may just stick with the Hart and accept that it leaves more wetness behind.
