The Odyssey OLED G9 stands out as a huge 49 inch ultrawide with stunning OLED colors, strong multitasking, and a glossy finish that some prefer over matte. The smart features, remote, and software input switching add convenience, and several long term owners report no burn in or image retention after heavy gaming or office use. The main concerns are black screen cutouts, occasional panel failures, and Samsung support that can be slow or frustrating. Text can look less crisp than IPS, and the smart TV style software is not for everyone, making it a powerful but finicky ultrawide.

If you've already got a decent display,
wait until DP2.1(a/b) DP54(UHBR13.5) and DP80(UHBR20) OLEDs are more common.
HDMI2.1 + DSC doesn't 'suck' but it can be noticed; being forced to DP1.4+DSC, say goodbye to 240hz...
I don't think I've ever noticed the DSC tbh.

You can still hit full resolution 240hz without subsampling over the DP 1.4 port, it just uses heavier compression. I never noticed the DSC on either though.

I have the g93sc which is the older version of this monitor. It's basically 2x 27inch monitor without the border in the middle. Love the multitasking functionality. Only complaint is in comparison to ips monitors texts aren't as clear and crisp. It looks kind of fuzzy. This seems to be one of the inherit disadvantages with oled displays. Have had this monitor for almost 2 years and no burn ins yet.

I bought 2 of the 91s models for a great two monitor setup. No burn in issues, but display port can be touchy. I found running one with display port and the other monitor on hdmi 2.1 works best with dual monitor setups.

4 year warranty...I'll run through 4 of them if needed, but true.

I use a nvd switch. You think that will cover it?

These are buggy monitors, I bought mine direct from Samsung six months ago and it's a dead screen now, even though devices detect it. Samsung support is the worst I've ever dealt with, sending me round in circles. They are replacing it but it's been two weeks and ETA is two more. I'll stick with PC brands for monitors in the future.
They would have replaced it for you free of charge. One of the simplest things I had to do

I think you got lucky. In dealing with Samsung for two Galaxy phone issues (charge port kept thinking it had moisture even though neither phone had ever come in contact with water) and it was a nightmare and ~4 weeks to get resolved each time.

With regards to this monitor, I don't know if this has the same issue as the non OLED version, but with the none OLED version I was taking if off the mount so I held it from the top center and bottom center and lifted it off. It didn't work after that. In contacting Samsung they said I lifted it wrong, as you can't apply any pressure to the bottom center, apparently there is some sensitive control board just behind that.

My cards extended warranty refunded me but it definitely soured me to the line. When it worked, it looked great, just wish the outer shell was reinforced a bit more to prevent this.

Have this monitor and have zero issues. Had it about a year and a half. Use it for gaming. No burn in. Colors are vivid. Tizen os works fine. Updated whenever the monitor said to. Again zero problems. Bought it when it was $800.00 on a promo. Money well spent.

Samsung monitor warranty service is the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with. Monitors from Dell and HP have been a piece of cake to resolve in the past, usually shipping the replacement immediately. Samsung still hasn't shipped my replacement, yesterday they told me it would be 10-15 business days after the case is approved (that took two weeks). Samsung chat sucks, calling in is worse, they keep pushing me to texts but the conversations go cold after a few replies, all of that is after tech troubleshooting that keeps repeating questions off a script.

None of that is simple or smooth.

Price drop! $581 at Best Buy open boxed fair condition. Just picked one up and it had very minor scuffs on the back with the clear protective sheet on the screen with everything sealed in the box. So far very happy with the purchase.

I returned mine as well it was a birthday gift, every time I would alt tab, to change windows the entire monitor would shut off and prompt a no signal because of the smart features on the monitor. I wouldn't waste my time.

New price drop, snagged an Open Box "Excellent" and appears the monitor was never used at all as it still had the screen protector and all sealed cables. I know others said there is some risk with this models but took a shot with it + Geek Squad for burn in coverage over 4yr at this price. Seems like a killer deal IMO.
