The main villain is kind of an 1nc3l, so it probably would have been too triggering anyway.

Only 3 games fyi, the deluxe upgrade is a dlc for true colors. Remastered collection is the original plus the 3-episode prequel.

The new one is complete trash so save your money even with the 10% off

That 'review' is just being snarky for the sake of snark. He nitpicks immediately on details that stick out ("OMG, the teacher looks like such a douchey hipster!") but those details standing out are actually setups, both clues and red herrings for what happens (and could later happen because of your choices) in the story. It's a branching-path mystery, where the world and character building are important. It's actually rewarding gameplay if you like to observe and make mental notes of small details and reactions and use them to make plot decisions later on. Pay attention, notice, go with the flow, and make better choices from it. It fits with the main character who's a photographer, and she's written as a mostly introverted observer of people.
The reviewer's method of immediately criticizing things that he sees in game because they don't mesh with his life ("This class size is too small and photography class is too bougie for high school!") before watching it get fleshed out for relevance in the game's world (it's a very expensive private school which only the wealthiest or best-connected kids in the area attend, which becomes relevant to multiple threads in the plot) just mean that he's the wrong type of reviewer and wrong type of player for this type of game.

Yes, but... his point is that no matter what you pick, you're funneled down a singular path. It gives the illusion of choice, but there really is no choice.

For the full deal, it's about $6.59 less than the best past Steam sale. I'd say the $18 "3-item" bundle is the sweet spot though. For $4 more you're getting a lackluster upgrade that you can maybe catch on sale some time in the future.
