Not worth it unless you want to risk burning your house down. Useless amount of surge protection
Shouldnt be relying on a power strip for protection against much anyway

is it dangerous to plug this into a heavier duty surge protector or into a heavy guage extension cord

daisy chaining (plugging this into another one or an extension cord) is dangerous by itself

i mean it all depends. If you have a surge protector filled up with low power sucking things (plug in LED lights) and you add another surge protector and fill it with a bunch of low power things i cant see that being a problem.

But if you have some heavy power things tv's, ac's, refrigerators, heaters all suck a ton of power. Worse they have compressors that when they first kick on suck a ton more power to spin up.

The more power being used the hotter the wires get. If youre running close to the max the surge protector can take and then all of a sudden your window AC unit kicks on that would be enough to short the breaker or cause a fire.
