I know these things can get hot while transferring large amounts of files.

Nice price for a Samsung but transferring files to with the adapter will be hellaciously slow. If this came with a Samsung USB reader, I'd grab it. Many generic readers are slow. But reviewers say that Samsung's reader will transfer data at full speed. This 512Gb bundle, for example, includes the reader. Several times a year, it goes on sale for as low a $29.

Try using an external USB reader. If that's not cool enough, you can always aim a fan at if if it gets too hot. A simple handheld fan is fine.

If you try with the card slot on laptop its better than any usb reader
