What's there to wait for? Same basic product with newer processor compared to last few generations. Not going to be a life-changing update.

I'll simply wait for them to appear on AAFES and acquire them without any tax.

If this thing can also run Windows natively, then it'll be great. For now a Windows machine plus an iPad would be the best combination. Let me see those thumbs down from the Apple 512GB fan boys.

these might be good for some people for 1.5k but if you are like me and use your laptop all day you really should get the top of the line for 5k. i have a maxed out spec m4 max last year, don't regret buying it one bit. i can open everything and have a million browser tabs open without any heat/lag/noise. i definitely need 128gb of memory just because my browser uses so much of it. right now 72gb of memory in use and im just having a few things running (80% of the usage is browser instances). i couldn't imagine ever going back to 16gb of memory.

Sounds like data hoarder...doesn't seem like you're doing AI oriented workload. And the clutter from so many tabs would drive me nuts.

Not sure if trolling. No one should expect Windows to run natively/bare metal on M5 Apple Silicon.

Bro in what universe do you need 128 gb on an m4 mac??? Like are you simultaneously cloning the human genome while compressing 48 gb videos to mkv ???

I closed chrome and it dropped from 72gb used to 30gb. So it's mostly Chrome. I leave a lot of tabs open most of the time, around 40-50. All my other laptops in the past ran like crap on 32gb of ram or less. I'm not particually messy, i only run a few apps TradingView, Perplexity, Windsurf, Tidal, Chrome, Thinkorswim. From my experience in the past year if you want to not ever even think about lag/memory/overheating it's worth it.
