What's with this thread? Why are people shocked that someone might have a couple tools in an old junky car?

This Craftsman Versastack mechanics set stands out as a compact roadside and garage kit with the important sockets and ratchets covered for older cars and common repairs. The labeled tool spots, decent ratchet feel, and case layout make it easy to keep organized, and it pairs well with DeWalt TSTAK storage. It has handled alternators, belts, sensors, fuel line access, and even a throttle body pipe fix. The drawer lock dial is finicky, and $99 is described as close to regular pricing, so timing the sale matters. A practical trunk set if you want broad coverage in one case.
Drivers of older cars who want a trunk kit for roadside fixes, because it has handled alternator, belt, and hose repairs when a car breaks down.
DIY mechanics who want a compact socket set with labeled storage, because the case keeps tools organized and the ratchets feel fine for routine work.
Owners who already use the DeWalt TSTAK system, because the case pairs very well with that storage setup.
People who need a flawless drawer lock, because the locking dial can be finnicky when securing the drawers.
Shoppers who want premium ratchet feel, because the 302 ratchet is standard rather than high tooth count.

You carry all those spare parts in your car too? And diagnostic tools as well?

For Chrysler products there are cheap ODB software products (bidrectional that have programming/relearn functions) you can buy, either DiagFCA if you have a cheap Windows laptop lying around or AlphaODB for Android. They interface with the car with a USB or Bluetooth dongle, I just ordered a compatablie one from AliExpress for $10 from AliExpress. There's also FORScan for Ford products, I'm sure there are similair options for other manufactures. My point is there's no reason not to have high level diagnostic tools in your car at all times.
Edit: A lot of times you can get the car to limp to limp to a parts store, or a parking lot and you can uber, ect. I have a horror story about getting completely ripped off by a mehanic when my alternator died on a road trip in the middle of nowhere. I had no tools or no knowledge on how to use them if I did, it really sucks being such easy prey for complete scumbags like that.
