I'm a heavy user of Wolfgang Uber SiO2 rinseless wash. These products can be very deceiving as it "feels" like there isn't much lubricity when using but they encapsulate and shield the paint from the dirt scratching it. I typically heavily saturate the panel using the diluted product in a spray bottle (Niagara brand from Harbor Freight are my favorite economical sprayers), and then using a couple microfiber towels to wipe (in straight directions, with little pressure). In the winter with heavy dirt/cinders, I ALWAYS spray the vehicle off at a self serve car wash and then hse the above method. In extreme situations with heavy road film, I will use a wash mitt in a a bucket to do a light agitation wash.
From what I can tell, blue is the classic ONR (optimum no-rinse) without the Carnuba wax additive. Green has carnuba wax included. People who use more 'advanced' waxes or protectants like Ceramic or Graphene coatings will likely prefer classic ONR.
If you don't already use those, the green is probably the better choice, like a 2-in-1 shampoo if you don't use already use fancy conditioner.
for anyone that hasn't used a no-rinse car product the idea is that you'll apply it and it will magically encapsulate the dirt, then you can wipe it away. works great if your car is already basically clean. any real layer of dust or dirt and you need more steps.
There's so many professional detailers that use nothing but ONR. This is definitely a misleading statement.

why would you choose blue over green?
