Better off with an EcoFlow type of power station imo

Actually, I looked into this. While it's a viable option, it depends on your needs. EcoFlow doesn't advertise their product as a replacement for a proper UPS. It has been tested by consumers that the advertised 30ms switchover time (on their higher end units) can be misleading...even after firmware updates. Depending on the load it can switchover in as long as 1.5 seconds, which is too long for some machines, modems, etc.The main purpose of a UPS is to provide just enough minutes for you to save your work and allow you to safely shutdown/turn-off your machine. From my observation the best combination of equipment for extended usage would be "UPS > EcoFlow > machine". This way the UPS protects your equipment using a higher rated voltage clamping force...and doesn't get confused if it is line interactive or has active voltage management.I understand others may have had success with the EcoFlow only. I'm just trying to offer my 2 cents from a couple hours of research and reading data/spec sheets.

Yes, they should be. A month ago I ordered the CyberPower PR1500LCD from Woot! Usually, you don't know for certain who the retailer is. My UPS notification said it was shipped by Verdi Commerce, who is a company that provides licensed resale solutions to OEM's for refurbished, returned and open-box products. I opened up my unit and it shipped with NEW CyberPower branded batteries. It arrived in the original box with a slip inside that explained the ONE YEAR Warranty. So far I'm quite pleased.

I was considering that too, but all Ecoflow cost more than this unit and switch over isn't as fast as UPS even when they are in UPS mode. I don't really care about being able to run more than 5 minutes on battery.

It seems to me that you would want the Ecoflow first. FWIW I asked ChatGPT, and ChatGPT agrees with me.: https://chatgpt.com/share/68f50e9...a63a7aba73

Different goals. Power station is intended to work through an outage, UPS aims for a graceful shutdown.Ideally you have both. UPS so you can save your work and turn off your computer. Power station to brew coffee while you wait for the power to come back on. (Or sustain until a generator spins up, the best option for long term support.)

from ChatGPT: Waveform compatibility: Your UPS is simulated sine. CyberPower's own guidance says devices with active PFC power supplies (i.e., essentially all modern high-end PC PSUs) can shut down unexpectedly on simulated-sine output during battery events; their recommendation is a pure sine (PFC Sinewave) UPS.

Despite their claims, they can not be configured to shut down a PC. They never released the promised UPS app.

I've only purchased the PFC version the past few years. Every one has had its batteries replaced once already so they've been chugging along for a number of years.

Note that cyberpower UPS units have a flaw where after extended outages when the batteries get fully depleted they will not power back on by themselves once the grid power is back. You have to go and press the power button to power back your equipment.

I'm pretty sure this is the price for a new unit, simulated sine wave, from Costco or Sams once black Friday gets close.
