This is definitely better than that 990D, now whether is worth the extra cost is completely subjective.
To be fair there is some work/effort & cost to get optimal performance from traditional setups.
Especially now with object based codecs.
Keep in mind a traditional setup is kinda not worth it if you mainly use streaming content.
Thats what soundbars are mainly designed for.
