Requisite "Nakamichi went out of business and this is a bought name on a product level stuff" comment. "Feel the rumble with deep bass down to 20Hz from wireless quad 8" subwoofers" Jesus...8" is not a subwoofer. I have 8s on my front channels.

Charging that much and it's not even a full home theater system?!? I hate this soundbar trend.

Oh wow really, they went out of business? I have an old Nakamichi unit and has been amazing for many years.

Keep in mind the very popular & highly praised HW-Q990D has the same size subwoofer!

This is definitely better than that 990D, now whether is worth the extra cost is completely subjective.

Well to be honest they are not designed to compete with traditional setups.

To be fair there is some work/effort & cost to get optimal performance from traditional setups.
Especially now with object based codecs.

Keep in mind a traditional setup is kinda not worth it if you mainly use streaming content.
Thats what soundbars are mainly designed for.

For context, Nakamichi filed for bankruptcy over 23 years ago. They were known for manufacturing cassette decks. A Chinese company later purchased the brand in the late 1990's.

Beyond that, the whole numbering schema goes contrary to every audio system that has ever preceded it. One front channel, two surrounds and two "subs". That's what this thing is. Don't get me wrong. Can a good soundbar be better than the built in audio on many TVs? Certainly! Is this worth 2k? LMAO.

Well technically that's not true.
Built in Atmos modules work the same way.

Many many people find that the sacrifice works well for them and good enough alternative.
