So buy this from Costco as then you can take it back immediately if this occurs, and you 'win the lottery' and have one of the units impacted by this issue. Starting today the price for this same model at Costco is $1,999 and you can get the 3 year extended warranty for $100. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Even better, when the three-year warranty is (automatically) added to your cart with the TV for $99.99, they discount $100, so they're paying you $.01 to get the warranty.

Yeah, I'm at Costco right now and was surprised to see the 77-in C5 at $1999. I've been eying the 77" c4 at $1799 for the past few weeks- they keep extending out time period for the discount.
But at this point, with the price being so close, it seems as C5 would be the way to go. The only thing I'm a little worried about is that the 2025 models of LG don't have DTS anymore. I don't know how big a deal that is - my connections on my current old tv (the very old 65" Samsung KS8000 LED) are: devices>TV>receiver
Also - when considering the LG C4 from Costco vs other retailers, I believe there's a few extra things that Costco members get from their particular model versus other retailers:
- expanded memory 32gb
- precision HDR Master Pro
- Precision Sound Master Pro
these items are all as per the box, and I don't know how big a deal any of them are

I could be wrong, but I believe the deal for the free soundbar and speaker is dead.
