I bought the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 when it was on sale last December for $133. I love them, but I don't think I'd pay more than I did. I like that I can wear them while biking and still hear traffic, they also never fall off or jiggle when I'm jogging. The one downside is they won't get real loud, so you'll have to get used to slightly lower volume, but I guess your sense of hearing will thank you for that. I read from multiple people that the difference between the Pro2 and the Pro 1 is significant.

I would not buy these used.

I've gone through multiple pairs and had to use the warranty as I believe they over rate their non-swimming version water resistance, which leads to multiple issues, causing them to be unusable

I've personally gone through five pairs over the years

Not for these bone-conducting headsets. They don't go into your ears.

Be careful about battery life

My openrun SE from Costco has dropped to 40 min battery life after daily use for about 10 months. Contacted shokz and they sent me a free replacement under warranty (great service). But the used ones you get on eBay might have similar situation

I bought the open fit 2 on a trip when I forgot my headphones intending to return them but I love them. Great sound quality and feel high quality. I use them more than my AirPods now.

I'm on my third model (started with an AfterShokz Air, then OpenRun, now OpenRun Pro 2) over the last few years, and overall I'm very happy with Shokz (I use them daily). Excellent for cases where situational awareness trumps sound quality/volume. I mainly use them for walking the dogs, riding my bike to work, in office, etc. and mainly listen to podcasts or audio books for which they're perfect. Where they don't work as well is for things like flights or trains (well at least BART which is ridiculously loud in tunnels). With that said, I'd overall highly recommend them if your uses fit.

Prices here are really hit or miss. Costco has ran some really good sales of older models (like $75 for a new OpenRun) so I would only consider the deals closer to 50% or more. I've had a great warranty experience when I had issues, and I've not had the battery issue the above post references (and do use mine daily).

Have you downloaded the Shokz app? It can install a new firmware to your headset, then it gives you new controls including traditional bone conduction, without using the speaker on the outside, an overall volume boost which is significant, and other options including a full equalizer to adjust to your preference.
