Is this better or worse than the flash forge deals that came up? I'm only interested in single color prints honestly.

This is the lowest I've ever seen this one. Pretty good deal if you can risk second hand manufacturing machines. Creality Refurbished is hit or miss.

Significantly larger than either of the flash forge devices, probably about the same quality.

Thanks. I'm good with tinkering a bit, but I want to avoid making the hobby being about fixing the machine vs. printing - I hear that's the main gripe between Creality vs. going for a Bambu.

My first 3D printer is a Creality K1 SE and it's been great. This is its more refined big brother, but it being refurbished sort of worries me, but that would be true for almost any product.

The reviews for this machine on amazon are really bad.

I'm looking at the listing with 10k reviews, only Bed Leveling seems to be an issue. What are you seeing?

My BIL and I picked up the refurbs almost 2 months ago for about $360 all in. Ours did not come with the unicorn nozzle. We spent about another $100 for upgrades: unicorn nozzle, extruder, and filament dryer. It has been performing well and we are enjoying it. It's an amazing compared to the Ender 3 I came from which required too much tinkering.

Bigger bed size, able to flash full klipper, plenty of parts in the market. The problem with creality is they will knowing launch a printer with issues. Then happily sell you replacement parts. Or wait a consumer to fix the issue or upgrade it, steal the idea and launch it as next iteration of that printer. Pretty much the K1C is an example of this.

nice deal.
I'd be in if I didn't just buy a new K1C from Ali a couple of weeks ago for $350 with the now expired $80 coupon. I got it in 3 days!

As someone that has gone from a Ender 3 SE -> 3 KE -> 3 v3 Plus and also has a Bambu X1C this is exactly it. The Bambu just works, I can open up the app on my phone, find a model, and push it to the printer from wherever I am. The Creality isn't as nice but they have made a lot of progress over the years. Like the difference between the SE I started with and the 3 V3 Plus is night and day for the better. The SE, and the KE to a extent, needed a lot of fiddling. The v3 Plus worked out of the box.

Now I use the Bambu for finer detailed stuff and higher temp stuff (ABS/ASA) while I use the Creality for anything that just needs a bigger plate or for quick drafts to figure out sizing. Stuff comes out "better" on the Bambu but I got my V3 Plus for $260 refurbished and the X1C was $1k+ so....

I have the regular K1 (not max) and it's been working well so far. I bought the USED one on eBay and it came with some scratches on some of the trim pieces, but otherwise worked really well out of the box. I was getting some extruder issues on the hottest days of the year, but I messaged Creality on eBay, they asked me for some pictures, and ended up sending a replacement extruder. I replaced the hot end with the unicorn nozzle hot end for around $30 I think.
I also snoop around the K1 subreddit and it seems like the main issue that people are having with the max is the lidar bed leveling. Most people turn it off and let it use the probing method instead. Some people complain about the bed mesh, but there is a bit of user error with people not removing the shipping screws before powering it on and trying to raise the bed with the screws still attached which can cause issues. I think that overall, for $288 it's a great price. I love my K1 and when I upgrade, I'll probably be getting a K1 max or K2 plus if Creality doesn't come out with a multi-nozzle printer before then.
