Honest, the 1 was a trash mouse. Went through 3 of them in 2 years and I don't even play click heavy games. The original started double clicking at 13 months, the warranty replacement lasted like 4 months before the scroll wheel and side buttons started having problems, and replacement #2 lasted even less before the double clicking showed up again.
Even though the warranty was officially 1 year, Logitech essentially doubled the warranty because they know how bad the mechanical components are.
Logitech has coasted on their reputation for far too long. I used a chinese clone for 2 years now and have had no issue. Paying $24 for a clone vs $80 (or $150 in my case) for the genuine is worth it to me even if I replace the clone 3 times.
The 2 uses a hybrid switch, the 1 used a mechanical switch.

I'm about to click buy on a G703 clone, the Teevolution Terra, since Logitech refuses to update it. I only wish one of these companies would clone the G700.

However, I will give props to Logitech because the warranty replacement process was fairly smooth. I started with a G903 like 5 years ago, which developed a double clicking issue, got another G903, which again failed, then they "upgraded" me to a Pro Wireless, and went through 2 of them until it finally held up for a while. For some of the old broken mice I got to keep I tried a DIY fix to replace the faulty chinese switch for a japanese produced one which did wonders, so I ended up with a few spares.
Good to hear they finally moved on from the shitty switches they used on the first one, but then again I haven't paid enough attention to this second get to know if it will last.
