Heat control is fine like with most induction cook surfaces. The problem lies in the fact that the induction source forms a ring at the bottom of the wok. Given the wok is relatively thin and does not disperse heat evenly, you'll notice a black ring forming at the bottom of the wok. The edges will never get hot unless you are constantly rotating it but will cool the moment you shift it. Unlike a gas cooktop which will continuously push heat up the sides and edges (albeit not all gas cooktops are the same).

You're much better off with a large flat induction cooktop and a flat pan for even surface cooking. The small advantage with this appliance is that you can use it as a deep fryer. The induction will heat oil quickly and maintain temps.

It's unfortunate they made it non-stick. They put that in the specs section of the Costco page.

That doesn't mean it has a non-stick coating. It literally says on the product page you can get wok hei from this, which is only possible with uncoated carbon steel. They are just calling carbon steel non-stick.

I have an induction stove, bought this from Costco (no longer in stock) and really like it.

This video from Wok with Tak is very helpful to learn how to use stainless steel woks:

Bought and returned also. The temp and heat was actually okay for me and the ring heating pattern didn't interfere as you're supposed to be constantly moving the food around with stir frying. However the controls are frustrating. The temp control knob requires several full turns to go to max heat. There was no way to set it to max power. There really should have been buttons to go low low-med med med-high high. Also, the knob also acts as a button to turn off the heating unit is too easy to activate. So I would accidentally turn off the wok and to turn back on max heat, you would need to rotate the temp controls several times to get back. I did appreciate the preheating controls so you know exactly when the wok hits the correct temp before adding oil and the food.

Hopefully they fix this in the next iteration. Make sure the wok actually heats on the bottom rather than a ring. And add buttons to quickly go to max heat or low heat rather than several turns.

I bought this originally for $129.99. This price is a steal.

I didn't like the included 14" wok as it doesn't move around the base. I bought a smaller 12.5" carbon steel wok to instead. It is much easier to slide the wok around the base as you add oil. The smaller wok doesn't center itself until you add some food in it.

I can do about two wok tosses before the induction burner errors out. If you need to do more tosses, you can always pause it.

Although it heats up very hot and fast, I don't think it'll give you that wok hei. I live in an apartment and sometimes it can get pretty smoky.

It's not non-stick. I own this and it's a preseasoned carbon steel wok.
